Email: Celebrating Black History Month
This week marks the beginning of Black History Month (BHM), dedicated to celebrating the inspiring achievements of African Americans and their significant role in shaping society today. Originating in 1915, what is now known as the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) designated a week to celebrate their heritage, selecting the second week in February as Abraham Lincoln’s and Frederick Douglass’ birthdays coincide during this month. Educational institutions and numerous communities were quick to take in this tradition until Black History Month became officially recognized as a national holiday by President Gerald Ford in 1976.
Here at Graziadio, we are proud to recognize Black History Month and cultivate a community built together through rich heritage and history. Graziadio is driven to create an inclusive environment that welcomes and cherishes every individual's unique differences. Our mission of developing Best for the World Leaders begins with the base of who we are – our people. This month, we are honored to recognize influential Black alumni leaders and entrepreneurs who are making powerful waves with their drive, determination, and voice.
Join us in honoring our Best for the World Entrepreneurs by reading their stories or attending one of our truly inspiring events being held throughout the month. Download the BHM Zoom background and continue to engage with our social platforms throughout the rest of our month-long celebration!
